It may not seem that dramatically sad, but in a kind hearted way, I should at least be known that Henrietta AKA Reta died recently. On February 19th 2008. She was only the young age of 7 months old when she died of unknown causes. She had escaped this summer for 1 whole month. It is amazing that I managed to capture her at around midnight one a month later.
But ever since then, our Reta never seemed to really be the same. She came to us actually in the cold. fall. Her spine poked through her fur. She had been a beautiful grand champion in the Island County Fair. But her eyes became sorrowful. Her beautiful coat became dull and hard to touch, because all you would feel, would be her small quivery spine, and her ribs, that were only about the width of a pencil.
Anything could have happened to her out there, on Possession beach walk. She could have eaten a poisonous leaf that slowly devoured her body. She could have just been too weak to eat. My mom was the last to see her, she began choking on her food, when she was out in the pens the rabbits usually hop around in on sunny days. In her words, she was described as a fish out of water. She suffered at first, which was the worst part of it . Her dad died at the same age, although he died in a mere few secounds.
I miss Henrietta, and her half sister Moonduste seems depressed without anyone to cuddle with.
RIPAL Henrietta Michelle. (Who I should mention is Marsha's daughter.)
